    Woolen and linnen were weaved in the district at Upper Gortmore near the Ball Alley by the Lanes and Hallorans. Basket making was carried on where Mrs. Luney is living by Donal O'Connell. There were no candles making in the district but every woman of the house used make her own candles by dipping strong strings into tallow. Fire cranes and timber ploughs were made by Edward Foot in Gortmore.
    Spades and gates were made Daily's in Gortmore. Weaving spinning and dying was carried on at Fidan Bridge in the townland of Upper Gortmore. The names of the thatchers were as follows. Bill Ring, Tom Dusey and Tom Roche.
