    There were local heroes as follows in the district :- Mr Pat O'Connell was a famous jumper and weight thrower. Mr. Tim Pearce used lift 1 1/2 sacks off the on to his back. I didn't hear of any runners in the district. Mr. Crimman jumped a river which is dividing my Parish from the next.
    Mr. J Jonson was a great swimmer.
    Mr. J. Leary used earn his hire mowing he used mow 2 1/2 acres in the day. Mr. T Shaughnessy was a dancing master. Mrs Ring and Biddy Hayes were both famous story tellers.
