Travelling people still visit the district. Some people have been coming for ofer twenty years. The best known of them are. The Mac. Carthy's and the O Brian's. They sell small articles and people buy from them. Sometimes they remain for longer than a night. They sleep in caravans. They take food with them and they get more food from the people. They ask the people for. tea, sugar. bread and money. They travel in carrs. and caravans. Sometimes they go single and more times in bands. They come to the towns on fair days and come to Holy Wells on Pattern days they sell sweets and other things on those days.
