    This is called custom locally.
    When an animal is sold luck is given, this is called luck penny.
    The horse-fairs in Newmarket are held on the 3rd Thursday in February and the 2nd Thursday in October.
    The cattle fairs are held on 14th January, 9th February, 6th March, 21st April, 11th May, 8th June, 16th July, 15th August, 8th September, 10th October, 21st November, 19th December. The calf-fairs are held from the 1st Thursday in March until July.
    The pig-markets are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month.
