  1. This is a custom the Irish boys had long ago. On Shrove Tuesday Night and on St. Bridget's Night they used go around to the neighbours' houses and take everything under their hands and they used also take na cailíní óga to Sceilig.
    There were four parts in the suit of straw, the hat, the cape, the legs and the body. It was Mr T O'Driscoll, Dromavane told me this story.
    He says that Mr Charles O'Regan, Murragh made a suit for himself when he was young and that he often went out with the Straw Boys.
