  1. An old wall is still pointed out as being the ruins of the church or cell of St Ann. In looking for the derivation no one seems to have any idea of how the place derived its name, but a glance at the Irish name will show that the stories told by the people of the district bear out the truth of them (Cill or Coill tighe Áine) Cilltaoibháin. In this district also is an ancient stone at which the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was offered secretly during the penal persecution.
