    landlords objected to this. During the Parnell split the people used to fight at the elections. My grandfather once said that at a certain election, he never saw fighting like what was at it.
    A priest came from Carnisca with a crowd of men to vote , but another crowd of men from opposing side began to fight with them and they hunted him down below Cloontuskert.
