    There is a market held in Ballaghadereen every week. There is a certain day in the week which markets are held in the different town, Friday is the markets. May in Ballaghadereen. At this market nearly all the trade is done on the Square bonhams and cabbage plants are sold on one side of the square. hay oats potatoes straw are sold in the Shambles. The woman sell butter and eggs from Flannerys up T F O'Grady's corner. This is the day that the old people draw their old age pension and that leaves a lot of money in circulation at the market.
