Irish. "One side of the ditch is as the other". One day the lad had the pot on the fire when an old beggar woman went in and the boy asked the woman what the Irish meant and she told him. When the woman left he went to the garden again and dug the other side of the ditch and he found the gold. He was rich ever afterwards.
