  1. When the farmer is going to plant the potatoes he cuts each potatoe in two leaving one eye in each. He takes them out in buckets, and puts them down one by one on the manure in the drills. He leaves them about a foot apart. The drills are then closed in with a plough.
    When the drills are closed they are rolled with a wooden rolled.
    When they come up they have to be maulded as the frost would burn them away. If there is no frost the potatoes need not be moulded.
