    Anemia or Bloodlessness;
    This is said to be overcome by eating sheep's liver raw or very slightly cooked.
    Kidney Trouble;
    A simple remedy for this is found by simmering 5 or 6 leaves of Golden Fern in a pint of milk, straining and drinking a glassful every morning.
    Evils or Running Sores;
    An old cure for these is Verbine or Blood Weed at the plucking of which those following Rhyme is recited.
    Verbine, Verbine of high renown. It was on Calvary you were first found. You cure the sick and you heal the wound,and in the name of the Jesus I pluck you from the ground".
    The verbine is left on the sore for and hour and then removed and buried and allowed to rot and as it rots the sore heals.
    Warts;
    A cross is made of rushes and placed
