Forges:- Long ago there was a forge in our fields the remains of the walls are still to be seen. It was known by the name of the Cool and the last people who owned it were Powers. When the people who owned it would be going to the Colliery they would stop and get their horses shod or tell the people in the forge to make gates for them or bind wheels. After a long time all the Powers died but one whose name was Kieran and he got blind. Some of the people said because he cut a bush in our rath and the fairies blinded him before he got home. Soon after the walls of the forge fell out for want of care. The people around baught the tools that were there. Kieran Power lived in the dwelling house for years before he died.
