  1. There are four church-yards in the Parish One in Ballycallan; one in Kyle; one in Kilmanagh; one in Kilaloe. They are all still used, and are all in connection with churches, except the one in Ballycallan.
They all slope towards the east
There are no dis-used graveyards in the Parish
*The following was told to be by the late Mr. John Commins, ex. N.T., Desart N.S. Kilkenny.
He was a member of the Archaelogical Society and was very interested in old discoveries.
He said he attended a funeral in the Churchyard in Ballycallan, Co. Kilkenny.
When the grave was dug he noticed a large flat stone several feet down in the ground. I do not know exactly at what place but I have a hazy recollection that it was near one of the Walls.
He was continually thinking about it and said that he would get permission from the Priest to dig in the place where he saw it. He had an idea it was of some historical value. In the meantime he lost his memory and died without investigating it. Perhaps it may come to light again.
