    (the Tories)
Like a dog that can bite they will show you their teeth.
When those Tories were "yowling" (howling) like blood-hounds all round us
The poor Irish people they thought to keep down,
But the wheels are goin' round an' the times they are changing,
Our Catholic members are increasing each day
Thank God and brave Dan and the son sof Saint Patrick,
Who bursted the chains from the "Clause of the name,"
Success and long life to the Mayo Militia,
To George Henry Moore and to brave Father Pat,
And to every true member of "justification,"
Three cheers for Mayo that was never seen slack.
The singer in those always "worded"
the last few words, exactly as Ive heard a ballad singer do on the wireless last week (3.6.'38) in a broadcast "On the road". The singer whom I heard of above died about 1901 aged 73 years (R.I.P.) & see note page 166
