  1. Long, Long, ago there lived in Church-town County Waterford a man who had a large sum of gold, and did not know what to do with it. One day he called his servants and told them to build two piers in the middle of a field. After a long time, the man came up to his servants and saw that they had one pier built. He told them to go home to dinner. When they were gone he put the money on the ground and cemented over it. When the servants came back the foundation was laid for them, to build the other pier. They wanted to tumble the foundation but he would not let them. Then they thought that he had
