    The following are regarded as signs of good luck in this district.
    1 To meet a black cat on the way to a fair is a sign that the animals will be sold for a good price.
    2 To meet a black-haired woman on a Monday morning.
    3 To feel your fingers itchy is a sign that you are going to get money.
    4 To put on your jersey inside out unconsciously.
    5 To find a horse shoe.
    6 To throw a boot after a person.
    7 To meet a white dog at night.
    8 If the palm of your hand is itchy it is a sign that you are going to get money.
    9 To see a moth flying around a lamp is a sign that money is coming to you.
    Various Signs
    1 When you are going astray at night turn your coat in side out to find right path again.
    2 If three swarms of bees depart unknown to the owner something will perish among his stock.
    3 When an ass brays it is said "a tinker is dying" or "there is a funeral in Carrick".
    4 When a dog "keens" at night it is sign of death.
