  1. From olden days, the Irish people have believed in fairies, or the Good People. They lived in fairy mounds, liosses, and raths. They were supposed to have magic powers, and people were very much afraid of them. Numerous stories are told, of things they did, and it is said, that if a person were brave enough, and went to see them, at midnight, he, or she would hear something, which would help them, if they were in trouble.
