    This daring old fellow, I stood and I stared him,
    While I knew that I feared the monster to see;
    He wore a long "meggle" as grey as a badger;
    That would reach from Dingle as far as Tralee.
    He ‘ad a pair of long horns like any two bayonets,
    And just like a needle they were at the top;
    And sure you may be that a week you’d be laughing,
    If just he could on you but once get the drop.
