- Travelling folk visit some houses in our district. Most of these people have been doing so for many years. Some are poor and sone are not. Some sell small article. Some people buy off them. They get their supplies from the farmers houses, and the wealthy people buy them. These travellers are never welcome. They stay for one night. They sleep on straw in the kitchen. They have no food with them. The alms they accept are potatoes, eggs, money, flour and other things. Some travel on foot, and some in caravans. Some travel singly, and some in twos.(continues on next page)
