  1. (continued from previous page)
The gloomy night embraced the place,
    Wherein the noble infant lay,
The babe looked up and showed His face,
In spite of darkness it was day,
It was our day, and light did rise,
Not in the East but from His eyes.

    Infant Jesus, meek and milk,
Look on me a little child.
    Pity mine, pity me,
And suffer me to come to Thee.
    Lord of the branch,
    Lady of the flower,
    Lord be my guide,
    And Mary be my power.
Oh Jesus, Mary and Joseph, be with me at my dying hour.
In the morning when I rise,
To the almighty God I turn my eyes,
Begging of Him night and day,
Not to let my poor soul astray.
Oh Sweet Sacred of Jesus, grant me the grace to receive the Sacraments, at the hour of my death.
