    Local Weather Lore
To see a dog eating grass is a sign of rain. When sea-gulls fly inland it is a sign of a sea-storm. If the sky is red in the morning it is a sign of a storm on sea. If the sky is red in the night it is the sailors delight.
If the stars twinkle in the sky it is a sign of frost.
If the sun comes out and goes in again it is a sign of rain.
When the curleys all it is a sign of rain.
When the smoke goes up straight
