  1. 'Faughts" the downland I live in is said to have got it's name from two brothers called Fauscits who lived in a wood nearby Faughts Bridge.
    Faughts Bridge as it is known by to all the local people, is a crossroads . I never heard if any murder had been committed at that Bridge.
    One night about three years ago a ghost is said to have come out from John Kelly's gate and walked up the road with a man as far as Hargadons bridge. What he was going he went down as if to go in to the water and sight's is my destination'.
