- Corduroy trousers, coats with a lot of buttons in them, big brogues full of tacks. When you'd come to sixteen years, you would get a straw hat in the Sumer. Oat meal and Indian meal mixed for your breakfast. Tea was seldom used, when they were making it they would pour the water on the tea and then they would throw away the water and eat the tea leaves.
