  1. Some eighty years ago people used eat peculiar food-stuffs. They had not as many varieties as is used nowdays.
    Long ago people used to eat only twice a day. Their meals were dinner and breakfast.
    There principal food supplies were; potatoes; nettles; oaten bread; and a food known as stampy.
    This food known as stampy was made from minced potatoes, milk, and a little crushed wheat.
    In olden times when the people had their day's work done they used eat no supper but they used go to bed
