    the roadway on which they were to pass by, with inscriptions of welcome printed on them. From the place he got out of the boat the people had red flannel along the road on which he was to walk but he would not dishonor the Irish soil so much that he would walk on the flannel.
    One wet day about five years ago a speed-boat was going out the bay and when it was coming near the mouth of the bay it struck a bit of timber which up-set it. Four lives were lost and two were saved. The owner of the speed-boat was Mr Guinness. Mr Guinness and his sister were saved by life-belts.
