    not spoken by the master or pupils and it was not used in teaching. Any teacher who taught Irish they was prosecuted. History was the principal book that was used in these hedge schools, they wrote with pencil and slate and sometimes with pen.
    The ink they used was red and it was made of dragoon's blood. The teachers had several schools together.
