    At concerts and at dances, Pat takes always first
    When he comes along with his jolly song, there's always an outburst,
    And when on the floor, his jigs and reels excel them all,
    They all shout Isn't he the devil, Pat from Donegal.

    This was written by MaH. (John) Maguire, Bronagh, Glenfarne - (still alive) about 1937, in praise of a well known G. A. A. referee, P. Rooney fron Bundoran, Co. Donegal. Mr. Maguire some years ago published a song to music (at his own expense) which left him almost destitute. I couldn't get the song from him as he is of a peculiar temperment.
