    Gubinea there were about twelve families at that time, each consisting of an average of father and mother and from ten to fifteen children. At the present day there are only four houses with a small population in each. That is one Trail of the famine. All the other townlands of the parish were affected similarly. All those people died from the famine and those that managed to survive the dreadful visitation walked for miles to the seaport to get away anywhere out of this poverty-stricken country.
