Ash Wednesday the people go to the chapel to get blessed ashes on their foreheads and the stations of the cross are preformed. Years ago there used to be black fast on Ash Wednesday, but that custom has died out since then. Good Friday they also go to the church to kiss the Cross. Years ago people went barefooted to this devotion. On the fiftheeth of August the people go to holy well in Ballyshannon. This is an ancient well, and for years in the past people went to perform their devotion. It is known as the Abbey Well.
Up to the present day the old people believe in keeping down the 12 days of Christmas whither they are fair or stormy. It is said they represent the 12 months of the year.
