  1. On the occasion of St Patrick's visit to the Glenade a feast was provided for the saint and his followers. For this purpose a bull was taken from Ahanlish or Largydonnell mountain slaughtered and roasted and the feast was held in the field where St Patrick preached. Before the feasters had all departed however the owner of the slaughtered animal came to the gathering demanding the price of the slaughtered animals. It was always looked upon as a privilege to supply the meat on such an occasion. That payment should he demanded shamed the people of Glenade and vexed St Patrick. At once he ordered that the hide should be dipped in the well he had blesses earlier in the day. This was done and the bull at once emerged whole and entire, bellowing in a most frightful manner. He set off for the mountain where he was got. The then frightened owner set out in pursuit fearing his other cattle would fall victims to the bull; but he found them safe but stamped while the cause of their terror was nowhere to be seen.
