When the old piper passed away the dance of this place ceased. Not so with the music, for on dark breezy nights when the winds moaned through the branches of the tree the lively dance tunes and haunting melodies of the piper could be heard by the travellers passing that way. About thirty years ago the old tree was hit by lightening and felled. Nothing now remains but the old trunk on which the piper sat when playing his selections for the dances of others days.
