    father sent him to a nursing home and he himself went to England with grief after his wife's death. The woman's father took the child and brought him over to France. He was there a certain length of time and had an aunt there. His uncle wanted him to join the army, he got instructors for him and he became a great man. When he heard of the trouble in Ireland he came back and joined the volunteers. One day he was travelling within two miles of Tuam, and there was a colonel of Cromwell's out for a drive and had Bingham's daughter with him. It began to make thunder, as they were passing the river between Cnoch Meadh and Tuam. The horses bolted and went into the river. Kevin O'Connor went down to save the young lady. The colonel was coming away without even trying to save the lady. Kevin loosened the horses and left the carriage in the water. The
