  1. When Mr Howard was young he was supposed to be the strongest man in Rush. He is now dead and he lived to the age of 97. He died a couple of years ago, his home was at The Square Rush.
    It is said that he could carry two bags of potatoes one in each hand. He was also a great thrower of weights. He could also lift half-a-hundred weight up by tying a handkerchief to the weight and holding a other side in his teeth.
    One summer Michael Harford Handpark Rush carried a yawl up out of the sea and put it on the quay James Andrews Lr. main St. Rush carried three sheep on his back.
