    1. When a cow has a calf its right to put a coal and salt in the corners of the bag on her back so that the fairies will not bring her away.
    2. When an infant child is taken out for the first time a coal and salt should be put in the corners of the shawl to prevent the fairies taking it.
    3. When a sitting of eggs is been set under a clocking, (1) they should be set on Wednesday (2) a coal should be ground up and mixed with salt and the mixture should be put in the hay under the eggs (3) thirteen eggs should be set.
    4. Infants clothes should not be left out at night for fear of the fairies.
    5. Its not lucky to call the first son after his father.
    6. Its not lucky to stand as sponsor for two children in the one year.
    7. Its not lucky to stand as sponsor for two children of the one family
    8. Its not lucky for a husband and wife to stand as sponsor for a child
    9. When a person sees a lamb for the first time in Spring, its a sign of good luck if the
