    There is a rugged, rough and steep road through the hills between Urris and Desertegney. The summit of this road is called " the Gap of Mamore " , near this Gap and on the side of the road, is a well called " St Columbkilles Well ", in the vicinity of the well there are seven cairns or heaps of sharp stones - two on one side of the road and five on the other side of the road.
    Every year from 15th August till 8 September, people visit this well to make " The Turas " or Pilgrimage. The Turas is made as voluntary penance, and it takes the following form - The pilgrim, fasting and barefooted, walks around every cairn five times saying one Pater and Ave every time and one creed at each cairn. The same is said kneeling at every cairn, and three stones are thrown on to every heap, in conclusion the Rosary is said kneeling at the well, and a drink is taken of the water.
