    the weather was stormy
    the people would fill
    these holes with old
    clothes or put boards
    on them. Some people
    had doors on hinges so
    they could open and close
    it as they pleased.
    The houses had no
    chimneys either. There was
    a hole in the middle of
    the roof and some people
    put a box or a barrel on
    the top of this hole to
    make it look like a
    chimney. The fire was
    made underneath this hole
    In the stormy winter
    nights all the people of
    the house gathered round
    it. The smoke went ever
