    known as Cragahoney.
Long ago the people were taught in barns and under hedges. They were called hedge-schools. There were (no) hedge-schools around Shrove and Carrowtrasna. There was a school in front of Dorans, Shrove. Master Doran taught in it, and there was another behind Willie O'Donnell's, Shrove, and Master Nash taught in it. There was one in the big field of Pat Hannon's(?), Carrowtrasna. That is all the schools I heard of in our district. Another school was held at Eddie Boucher's, Shrove. It was held in a house.
