  1. The Landlords got their name from having so much land and so they are called the Landlords or the Lords of the land.
    The time that the Landlords were living in Ireland they made their tenants pay very extortioning rents. When the tenant met the Landlord on the road, if the tenant did not lift his hat and bow to him the Landlord would come round and turn the tenant out of his house without taking crops or furniture or anything else with him.
