  1. Mother, dear, are you sleeping,
    No! dear child I'm dreaming,
    Dreaming that our Saviour,
    Has been scourged, and nailed to the cross.
    With His precious blood spilled before us,
    Anyone who says this prayer,
    Three times night and morning,
    For Jesus sake shall never take,
    The fever ache, falling illness, hung or drowned be.
    Or die out of his bed.
    When I lie down on my right side,
    I pray to God to be my guide,
    God the plant, God the flower,
    God give me a happy hour,
