Another story is told of a man called Slevin, who lives in Meenadreen, which is about six miles outside Donegal Town. This man's father-in-law, who was dead, appeared to many people, but nobody would speak to him. At last Mr. Slevin and another man volunteered to speak to the dead man and ask him what was troubling him. They did so and the dead man told them that he had been in a secret society and had raided a certain man's house. He took many things among which, was an Agnus Dei. He had hidden the articles and told the men the hiding place. He then disappeared and was never seen again. The articles were found and restored to their former owner. The two men's hair, who had spoken to the dead man, turned as white as snow from fright.
