A few miles from Frosses on the toplands of Cillen is the well known Carraic an tSagairt “the rock of the priest”. This huge boulder can be seen at a long distance. It is one of many similar rocks that tell a terrible tale when the hunted priest sought refuge here to celebrate Mass and administer the Sacraments to his flock.
It is the only one of its kinds at Inver if we except the old Scalan at Ardaghey, where Mass was celebrated until the erection of Ardaghey Chapel. All these remains of our troubled past should be carefully, preserved, and venerated.
