  1. The Rathmore school was built in the year . It comprised of one large room in which a male teacher taught. It was situated in the village of Rathmore. about three miles on the north side of Crossmolina.
    The teachers who taught there, were Mr. Gill, Mr Carney, and Mr Hickson, respectively. Mr. Gill taught from the year it was built for about twenty years afterwards. He was then succeeded by Mr Carney who taught for about the same length of time as his predecessor Mr. Gill. Mr Hickson was the last teacher.
