    plentiful in former times as some of them are in ruins. The townland is not mentioned in any old songs or sayings. The land though boggy and hilly is fairly fertile. There are no important rivers in the townland.

  2. The Potato Crop
    Potatoes are grown on our farm and about half an acre is sown each year. The potatoes are sown in drills. In making drills a plough or a spade is need. The spades are not made in this district. The potatoes are first cut and manured and then sowed in the drill or ridges. The potatoes are
