- A leipreachan is a dwarf man about six inches high. He is dressed in red, wearing a pointed cap like a dunce's cap. He has usually two shoes with hooked points on the top and turned up like a witches. He usually lives in a fort or in an old ruin. He is to be seen about twelve o' clock, and he spends his time mending boots and shoes for the fairies.
Once there was a man going home from his "cuaird" and he heard a voice singing. He looked around and he saw a man. He stole over and caught him "Give me that crock of gold that is there under that tree." Then he tied a sugan round the tree and went to get a fork to dig up the tree. When he came back there was a sugan around every tree and the man was gone.- Bailitheoir
