1. Homemade Toys

   Long aago when there were no Woolworths the children had to make their own toys.

   I made rag dolls from pieces of cloth and sometimes out of a turnip. I made two eyes, a mouth and a nose in the turnip and put rags on it.

   We also made presses for baby houses out of a square tin box and small pieces of wood. We put the wood across the inside of the box for shelves. We would also make beds for the dolls. We would get a cardboard box and pull the lid off and put it at the top for a hood.
   My mama told me that when whe was young she made all her own toys. She made
