- There was a house burned about thirty years ago. It belonged to Owen Markey of Knockbride. During the night a spark caught on to the byre.
They did not know where it came from. There were four cows in the byre. The cows began to roar until the man of the house heard them. He got up but when he went out one of the cows were burned to death. He then sent a messenger for help.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
