  1. Christmas is the greatest feast of the year. Everybody has a big feed that day. They have a goose or turkey for dinner and meat for breakfast During the twelve days of Christmas the crib is to be seen in the diffirent churches throughout the country.
    The day after Christmas day is called Saint Stephen's day or boxing day. On this day children and sometimes big people come together and go from house to house collecting money and sing the wren song.
    The wren, the wren the king of all birds,
    St Stephen's day she was caught in the furze
    Although she is small her family's great
    Rise up old lady and give us a treat
    If the treat is any way small it wont agree with the boy atall
    So up with the kettle and down with the pan
    Three halfpence or twopence to bury the wren
    We followed the wren three miles or more
