  1. Cures
    Burns (By fire): A person who licks a (logha) = loca – leech has powers to cure burns as above.
    Bleeding from the Nose: cured by Mr. John Sléurart of Aughanoch.
    Burns: make poultice of 3 herbs. Slaunlis, Lady’s Mantle, and “Cut Finger” when the 3 are boiled together add piece of unsalted butter. Apply to sore.
    Wild Fire: Was cured by James Hewitt of Tobar. He used to write round the rash (on the good skin) with a pen and ink, and whisper prayers at the same time.
    Eczema: cured by rubbing the affected parts by hand of a dead man, or round those parts.
