  1. People say:-
That it is unlucky to meet a red haired woman, on going to work in the morning.
Unlucky to open an umbrella inside the house.
To place boots on a table portends a family quarrel.
A horse shoe is considered very lucky in this part. We find them covered with silk, satin and used as pincushions too or hung above the doors of cow houses, stables. Also we see them hung over the doors inside the house, for good luck,
If a picture falls and the glass gets broken it foretells a death.
We also find the horse-shoe on Bride's cakes, Wedding Cards, and Xmas Cards. Green is thought an unlucky colour by some, and they would not buy garments of that shade.
Unlucky to hear a hen crowing, or a woman whistling. They should be left at a four cross roads.
If the robin is seen building her nest in the hay stack, wet weather may be expected. This year she was seen doing so.
