- Years ago there were no medical doctors or veterinary surgeons. So clever people made their own medicine and cures out of herbs.
These old cures were very successful around this neighbourhood. The chief cures were whooping cough, measles, warts, stys in eyes, schingles, bonesetting, and animals cures. The whooping cough was cured in two ways. One was to give milk to a ferret and whatever it left was a cure for whooping cough
